Adjusting the pressure vest
Putting on the pressure vest
Always wear something under the pressure vest; a T-shirt or tank top. If possible, adjust the vest while standing for a better fit. Start by adjusting all the Velcro fasteners to their widest position. Put the vest on and make sure the zipper is closed all the way to the top. Pull the vest down, then tighten the side fasteners, inflate the vest, and then adjust the shoulder straps.
For the best fit, check that:
- The deflated vest fits loosely against your body. Your hand can still easily fit between your body and the deflated vest.
- The Velcro fasteners are adjusted approximately the same on both sides so that the vest fits symmetrically.
- The hooks of the Velcro are completely covered.
- In case of panic, you can quickly relieve the pressure by removing the vest using the zipper or by opening the Velcro sections.
Inflating & Deflating the Pressure Vest
Squeeze the hand pump repeatedly to inflate the pressure vest until you feel a comfortable, firm pressure. To deflate the pressure vest, press and hold the button on the hand pump.
Wearing your own clothing over the pressure vest
You can also put your own clothing over the pressure vest. Because the vest is relatively thin, even when inflated, you can barely see it when wearing a hoodie, sweater, or blouse over it.
Stow the hand pump
The hand pump can be stored in several ways:
- In the pocket of your pants or jeans
- By attaching the air hose to the vest using the Squease flap
Disconnecting the hand pump
If desired, the hose can be shortened by pulling it off and cutting a piece with scissors. It is also possible to disconnect the pump. The pump can be disconnected using the connector in the air hose. Press the button and pull the two parts of the connector apart. The valve will close, and the pressure vest will remain inflated!
To further inflate or deflate the pressure vest, the hand pump must first be reconnected. When reconnecting, make sure you hear a “click,” which indicates it is properly connected.
